I am using here city lens on lumia 820, but it is showing my wrong location. Otherwise it is a greate app but cant use it due to this bug. I have tried reinstalling it, but its having same bug. BTW Nokia maps are working fine.

I went to Paris and decided to try to use City Lens to find my restaurants and other places I wanted to see. For the first couple of times I used the app in the intended landscape mode where the restaurants are overlaid in the viewfinder and did a 360 degree turn to see what is available but I soon got tired of it. It looks cool in a demo, but the simple list that is shown in portrait mode is more usable. When used in portrait mode I can see all restaurants that are close by without doing a pirouette in the street. So after the first couple of times I only used it in the portrait mode and was unhappy to see how it worked. The main view is forced to be in landscape mode and the subsequent views also seem to default to landscape. I was annoyed to hear the click from the camera module every time I opened a details view of a restaurant. The view always defaulted to landscape mode, initialized the camera viewfinder, and then quickly switched to portrait even though I never rotated the device. The battery in Lumia 900 is weak to begin with so I was annoyed to think about how much that unnecessary camera initialization was wasting. So. Focus on the portrait view. It's much more usable than the gimmicky landscape view with viewfinder. Oh and I updated my firmware and City Lens before the trip on 20.3.2013 so I was the using the latest versions available.

This app is awesome U just have to face ur fone inn the direction, and basically it tells U were everythig is and U get directions for the route what more could U want!! Superb, thank U

Nice app, Nice Concept not perfect yet but entertaining at the least. My main gripe would be that the GPS synch at times is hard and I would love for it to have a trace or something adde when looking straight at the locations

I recently visited Germany and turned roaming off. It would have been great to be able to use City Lens in Berlin without having to have a data connection. As it was, I couldn't use the app in the situation where I needed it most. We should definitely offer an offline mode where users can choose a city/county/country to download, much like is available in the maps and drive applications. (I know this is a suggestion and not so much a review, but step 4 of that process is blank in IE, Chrome, and Firefox and causes the feedback to fail.)

Best "wondering around" app there is! I just love how it shows the direction of the place you are looking for. Great interaction app as well.

I'm using the app since they released the first version for wp. It's the best app on the marketplace available. Pro +view depends on how you hold the phone (sensors) +huge database of POIs +get detailed infos from diffrent sources +includes reviews, fotos, adress, phone# and more +makes use of "app inside tiles". You can pin each category to your homescreen Cons -app name translation to german lakes. The name "nokia city kompass" is too long. Use instead the english name as german speakers understand english :-) -its supposed to have live-tiles. Couldn't verifiy that, as the tiles aren't be live

The City Lens is amazing. Using it on my Lumia is wonderful. My friends just asked whether this is a new stuff or so and people are getting a lot interested in it. Local contents shall be fed with a lot of local relevancy.

"Likely to graduate to a commercial product", are you guys serious, this has to become a to a commercial product. My initial thoughts are that it is unique, and truly inspired. What a great App this appears to be. I have nevercome across an Applike this before. Excellent work guys, exactly what I expect from Nokia. Brilliant.
