Nokia City Lens for Windows Phone

graduated! Now part of the commercial offering

Interesting app but could not find points in Washington, DC.

2012-05-14 @ 20:27 by mkaler
I just returned from Washington, DC and although the app launches fine I found it was not able to identify local points even when they were direcly across the street from my location. What is odd about that is that the app can locate the small family restaurants in my Dallas suburb. I would think it would be the opposite.

All in all an interesting app and will probably be useful from time to time but needs a bit more reliability on locating points.

Using a Lumia 900 on AT&T.

Hi Mike,

Thanks kindly for the feedback; certainly appreciate your interest in Nokia City Lens and sorry for any issues encountered.

Please note that we track all user inputs to address issues and evaluate suggestions for future releases.

In this light, would you be able to share one or two specific places that are not showing up in plain line of sight when using the Camera/Augmented Reality view?

It would also be interesting to know if these places show up when you search for them (via the magnifying glass, in City Lens main screen).

With thanks and best regards,
Raj

I am no longer in DC but I was in a Starbucks that it did not find and aimed the app at two restaurants directly across the street. One was named Jaleo (good tapas and wine by the way) and the other was Kora.
