Comment: Hi dishantkapadia,
Nokia City by KarmaRaj for Suggestion: city lens n8 current os (Symbian version)

Hi dishantkapadia,

Nokia City Lens trial for Symbian and N9 are now concluded.

With Windows Phone as our primary smartphone platform, naturally we are also focusing our augmented reality (AR) efforts on it. Hence, we have now concluded the Nokia City Lens trial for Symbian and the N9.

Beta Labs followers will know that City Lens has been one of our most well received new applications. People all over the world have recognized it as an exciting way to view what’s available to see and do in their immediate surroundings and reviewers have praised its ease of use.

We truly appreciate the role the Symbian/N9 trial members have played in providing feedback on City Lens on these platforms, enabling us to learn from it and improve the application. This feedback also proved to be very helpful to us when we started working on Windows Phone, the platform on which we are dedicated to creating a third ecosystem in smartphones and the one we intend to provide the best-in class location-based experiences on. With that in mind, we have decided that we can best accelerate the popularity of City Lens through a laser focus on Windows Phone.

While we have concluded the public beta trial for City Lens on Symbian/N9, users that have downloaded the beta for Symbian and N9 are very welcome to continue using the service. Please note, however, that it does not support the latest Nokia Belle refresh.

Moving forward, we continue to forge ahead on City Lens for Windows Phone and believe that AR will be a critical component of the mobile future as a technology that helps users get the most out of their geographical location.

We are very grateful for your feedback, suggestions and insights and thank you for using and contributing to Nokia City Lens.

Comment: Finally i agree with most of by rebolon for Discussion: Symbian version: Citylens not working in 808 (Symbian version)

Finally i agree with most of comments here. If you think that Symbian/Meego users will follow you on WP... that's not with that kind of behavior. You think we are just few angry personne, but you're wrong, we are few here, but a lot has already gone to Samsung, Lg or Motorola. Next year Chinese phone will sell more phone than Nokia. And if Lumia 920 was intersting, now i know what you will do if WP8 fail. You will just drop your customer, like you're doing now with us.
The fix was certainly not hard to do (because CityLens works sometimes). That's really sad.

Comment: City Lens Team... yea you are by bzymet for Discussion: Symbian version: Citylens not working in 808 (Symbian version)

City Lens Team... yea you are so grateful that you CANNOT even provide a working version for Nokia Belle refresh users.

This behavior is disgusting, and you should be ashamed.
How can you sleep at night knowing you just screwed over thousands of loyal Symbian users, including people that just supported Nokia by spending $600 on a new Nokia 808.

These are the same users that helped you by providing feedback over the last year for this application.

You should hide you heads in shame for not providing at least a Belle refresh working version for people to use.

Do the right thing and just provide a working Belle refresh version before you move on to windows phone 100%.

Seriously bad form Nokia, and you should expect a backlash from this decision. City Lens almost works on my 808, so seriously, how hard can a fix be?

It just seems like a ploy to force us Symbian diehards over to Windows Phone. Well, it won't work for me - once the 808 goes, the brand name of my new phone won't begin with an "N", that's for sure.
