Chinese input methods and character sets
Please add Traditional support.
On a slightly different note, please allow greater flexibility between input method and simplified or traditional.
For example, why does Pinyin input has to be Simplified; and why does Zhuyin has to be Traditional? Android does this right and does not impose such restrictions. I think iOS does not restrict either.
Furthermore, iOS supports Chinese simplified and traditional out of the box globally. Why can't Nokia Symbian do it? Or at least make user installable language packs. User can re-flash with HK, TW, or CN firmware to get Chinese, but this is unofficial, and hardly user friendly. One of the reasons got Symbian where it is today.
Everything is global in this day and age. All Chinese input methods support for traditional and simplified characters is the way to go.

I agree 100%.
I really need support for all the languages I use. Being in Taiwan, I need pinyin with traditional characters.... Andriod,iOS both support it - So really there is no reason why symbian can't have it.
Clearly Nokia fails to see how consumers are using their phones. I know some friends in Taiwan who stopped using nokia simply for this traditional/pinyin reason.
I live in Canada, thus the phone was a Canadian version of N8. Having great difficulty with using Chinese. Have both clients that use Traditional and Simplified Chinese. Need solution ASAP, please. Need hand writing recognition input software for Traditional Chinese. My phone was showing squares until install 3 ttf font files for Chinese in resource folder(followed instructions from Nokia forum). Now I can see Chinese but cannot input. All my clients can use Chinese on their iPhones and Android phones. Can anyone help me, please? Is buying Nokia a mistake??? Please help me with a solution. Saw a video clip online, a nokia N9 / N950 can have choices to input english, Chinese in both HK and Taiwan (predictively different) and simplified for Mainland using PR1.1. I am on Symbian Anna. Thanks
Updating my C6-01 with Symbian Belle brought me back to this forum. This is what I did to get display and input for English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese: Pinyin & Strokes for Simplified, Zhuyin & Strokes for Traditional. The process is exactly the same for C6-01, N8, etc.
1) Update to latest Ovi Suite.
2) (optional) Do a full phone backup with Ovi Suite.
3) (optional, may help to migrate apps) Update the phone to Belle with Ovi Suite.
4) I downloaded latest Navifirm+ software to get Belle for Hong Kong, which includes the above languages.
5) I downloaded latest Phoenix software (cracked version) for changing language via flashing with the Hong Kong Belle.
The process is a little involved, with more options, questions and answers that I can provide here. Also, I had to re-install a few apps that did not survive the update. http://www.seidea.com/ has a lot more details.
