Nokia Drop is not going to continue Symbian1 and 3 releases anymore. There will be no new releases available and that´s why I want to thank you all Beta users who has given a lot of good ideas, bug reports and reviews about Nokia Drop during this interesting journey.

So be active with other BetaLabs applications and all the best to the future =)

Note: that service is still running,  new extension versions are coming soon to Chrome Store and Firefox add-ons. Client is now delivered part of Nokia Push Notifications enabler and you can get it for example downloading CNN application from Nokia Store or downloading eBuddy XMS from BetaLabs.

Nokia Drop is a simple and easy way to push content and notifications to your device from public websites*. Nokia Drop uses Push Notifications, so no cable or Bluetooth connection is needed.  With Nokia Drop you can:

• Change your phone's wallpaper*
• Send image to your phone*
• Send public URL to your phone browser* (ie. Nokia Browser or Opera Mobile)
• Send map view  from maps.nokia.com to Maps mobile client
• Send feeds to Nokia Reader or to native browser web feed*
• Install apps, wallpapers, themes, ringtones from Ovi Store without SMS**
• New: Belle client; more automatic, no history list, integration to status panel, first-time-use help flow, Store&Forward, automatic update
• New: Anna +S1: silent installation, first-time-use help flow, store&forward, automatic update

*Transfering pictures and URLs from private (intranet) or password-protected websites is NOT supported.  Wallpapers and images are sent as links and will be downloaded via the Nokia Drop application, so they must be in the public domain.  

**We are using Nokia Account to identify the user in the Web extension and in the device application end. So please remember to sign in with same account information in both ends. 

Update 26.04.2012: New update available (version 1.4.12154): Error corrections to Store&Forward feature. connectivity improvement (thanks to all of you who have been sending log files and report errors), UI corrections.

Update will be send automatically to Anna and Belle devices. Update should be available in status panel in Belle and in recent download list in Anna.

For Symbian 1 users there have been bigger change so you cannot receive automatic update for this release. You need to first manually remove client from device and then install new client via BetaLabs pages.

Supported devices

Nokia Drop is compatible with S60 5th Edition and Symbian^3 devices. Nokia Drop has been tested to work with X6-00, 5228, 5230, 5235 Ovi Music Unlimited, C6-00, N97, N97 mini, N8-00, C6-01, C7-00, E7-00, 5233, c5-03, 5800 (PR4+), 700, 500 and 702T  Download the application.

Supported PC browsers

Nokia Drop extensions are compatible with Firefox 3.6 and latest and Chrome (latest stable).  Download the browser extension.

Nokia Drop is a Beta service

Nokia Drop is under development and service breaks may occur. Nokia Drop is a beta application to verify push notifications functionality on Symbian.
