This thread was created to gather all new reports (from 2012) of the situation where Nokia Drop continuously says "Connecting...".

If you see this issue:

1. Click "I have this bug too"

2. Read through others comments to see if there is a solution.

3. If you don't find a solution after reading others' suggestions, add a comment with:
- your device model (e.g. N8)
- your SW version (dial *#0000# to retrieve it, e.g. Belle 111.030.0609)

Now it is not working to the Anna updated Nokia C7 Mobile....
In Mobile: it is say "connecting.."(But is not connecting)
In Browser(Google Chrome):When in click on the it is saying.."Error with Sending!"

Could you please solve it...

which client version you have? this latest 1.4? have you got any Nokia store client updates?

Connecting forever, N8 belle, latest 1.4
This program does not recognize the phone's network connection. There is no alarm, message or anything, even if the phone is disconnected manually.

On Nokia C6-00, using WiFi: Drop stopped working after upgrade to 1.4. When starting it, within a few seconds "Connecting..." turns to "Disconnected". But when I log into my Nokia account on PC, on the phone "Connecting..." stops switching to "Disconnected" and instead just stays "Connecting..." forever.

After initially encountering this problem, I uninstalled everything to do with Notification Support (except Nokia Notifications app, which I reckon is unrelated to the issue?), Qt, Qt Mobility, Nokia Smart Installer ADM, Nokia Drop. Removed Nokia account from the phone via Maps app. Then installed Drop again, signed in to Nokia Account with ticked 'remember me' option. Still have exactly the same problem as initially.

Same issue with version 1.4 Belle N8 059D111

Says "Connecting...." But not connected!

same here with nokia c7 belle
says connecting...but doesnt connects

Nokia N8 latest version of Belle.

Was connecting when first installed but couldn't send anything from Chrome, just kept getting 'sending error'

Now simply doesn't connect through phone.

Bonjour, j'ai installé la dernière version Drop pour Anna que j'ai sur mon N8. L'installation se passe bien, le lancement aussi. A partir de la fenêtre "Connexion..." marquée en haut à droite avec un petit icone jaune, ça tourne en boucle en alternance avec un écran noir et le cercle blanc de téléchargement qui tourne au centre de l'écran noir. L'icone ne passe jamais au vert pour signaler que la connexion est effective. A partir de là, j'ai du mal à fermer et à quitter l'application. Bien sur j'ai mis à jour les extensions Firefox et Chrome. Nokia N8 Symbian Anna version 025.007. Merci pour votre aide

Tried all solutions. All not working.

I installed Nokia Drop 1.31 from the drop.nokia.com website and had the connection issue, then I started up Nokia Store on my phone and installed it from there, leaving the store connection open, and then installed it from the Store and it was able to connect from there.

N8 Belle over Wifi.

I still have this bug.

I've been trying to get Drop to work since the previous beta version without any success even on a newly built Belle N8.

I thought version 1.4.12101 was supposed to fix the "Connecting..." issue?? Mine still does the same thing... "Connecting..." and never connected. I have the Official Belle version on my N8, Qt 4.7.4 and Nokia Store works.

I reverted back too Drop 1.3.1 and that works... but not this latest version with all the BUGS.

Same here earlier version works ok.

Even I tried with Beta version of Nokia Drop.
Its connecting, connecting and connecting...
Am using N8, with Belle OS.

Nokia drops shows that there is a connection, but the links from the PC I do not get Google Chrome web browser, smart phone - Nokia 5230, SW v51.0.002.
In Nokia sided drop just does not work

The situation is: Nokia drop latest release is not compatible with Nokia Notification Support Package v1.05(31209. Works good only Notification Support Package 1.04(31206). So an update is needed .

Not in my case, my Notifications Support Package is 1.04(31206) and Drop 1.4 is not working... STILL...

Same here, Nokia Notifications Support Package is 1.04(31206) but Drop (1.4.12101) gets stuck Connecting...

I updated to Nokia Trailers 1.3.31 a couple of days ago and as soon as I did the app no longer starts. Instead, I get "Network problem" and then it shuts down.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail.

Network is fine, wifi and 3g, all other apps (mail, fb, twitter, maps, foursquare, store, cutebox, etc) are working, so what's up with Trailers?

Could these connection issues be related?

Could it also be the reason for google maps no longer working? I've read that having wifi switched on works for some people, but not for me.

This evening I formatted, hard-reset and re-flashed my N8 using the Mac Nokia Software Updater. After doing this three applications that I have had no joy with for months all worked perfectly straight after installing them.

First was Google Maps, then Nokia Trailers and finally Nokia Drop.

Maybe the people at Betalabs can identify a common element with these apps which all failed during their network initialisation at startup.

Omg, happy days!!

I revered to factory settings (*#7370#, no three-fingers-salute) my 701 (PC 059L499) and reinstalled Belle FP1 (112.010.1404). Restored data only, no apps/config. Installed Drop today from Nokia Store, had THE "CONNECTING... but never actually tries a connection (no WiFi activity, no 3G connection opening)". Tried installing the latest from Betalabs (1.4.12154) for Belle, removed, restarted, removed Nokia account from maps... reinstalledd Drop AND Notifications Support Package 1.05(31215) to no avail. Drop says "connecting..." without actually trying to open a data connection, 3G or WiFi...
I have no firewall installed. Had a couple before the reset/reinstall, but didn't reinstall. Anyone who's got this issue AND has a firewall installed could check wether Drop does even try to open a data connection?

Sad to say that Drop stopped working today. It has reverted back to not being able to connect: http://bit.ly/IUMetx

Keeping an eye on the status bar at the top of the screen I see that my N8 doesn't even try to make a wifi or 3G connection.

I've uninstalled all of the apps that I installed since Drop last worked (IMO, Googasync, Joikuspot and 3D WorldGaze) but that didn't fix the problem.

Then I uninstalled Drop and reinstalled the latest Betalabs version for Belle to C: and rebooted before running. That didn't fix the problem either.

So no more Drop for me again :( Pity, I'd been using it quite a bit since getting it to work a couple of weeks ago.

Will have to find another way to install the latest Weather Widget.

Just tried previous version 1.4.12101 but that didn't work either :(

Spent most of yesterday evening trying to work out why my Drop had stopped working but in the end I gave up.

It just sits there on "Connecting..." without actually trying to make a connection.

Also, the phone becomes very sluggish while this is going on, then as soon as I close the application the phone springs back to life.

Have now uninstalled Drop, will go back to using dropbox/cutebox.

Tried on newly reinstallet 701: same result (says: connecting... and doesn't even bother to activate 3G or WiFi).
I tried the Belle version and the Anna version, as well as the official one fron the Store, all with the same result. No security/firewall app installed...

Guys, is there a way I can get some tech info (logs, configs, ...) to help developers spot what's going wrong?

Please check that you have latest version of Nokia Store: open Nokia Store client and install new version if prompted.If that´s not helping, could you take log file of installation process and send it to nokiadrop.support@nokia.com that we can check components.

Well, actually I'm not experiencing installation issues... Installation's going fine, or, at least it's not reporting any issue. If you think that logs from c:\logs\adm could be useful to identify connection issuse, let me know and Il'' try and reinstall everything (Nokia Drop and Notification Support Package) to gather logs.

I had my 701 reflashed at Nokia Care and now Drop is connecting and working fine. Makes me think it wasn't the installation procedure that went wrong... it was my phone (updated from 111.020.0307 to 112.010.1404) that was a mess.

Just a little disappointed on the way apps from Nokia Store are delivered... looks like it doesn't send the file itself, just a link to the store... not very useful... if the Store Client app is giving some problems. I can't bypass it by downloading my apps by other means...

My installation seems to go ok. then to connect it says enter password for a nokia account i don't recognize. So i click reset password, my phone #, captcha, and end up in endless loop phone#>captcha>. I don't know how to recover this password - or log in with different credentials.

I've got my nokia 700 with FP1 installed and I've tried reinstalling nokia drop but doesn't work. Just shows "connecting" but nothing else.

First runs fine after a crash of nokia drop the whoke Telephone restarts. I got right now the connecting issue.

Drop worked for a couple of days until I tried to use it to download an app from the store. First I got a "memory full" error, then Drop stopped working. I restarted my phone and got my WiFi connection activated by some "xmppd service" then Drop wouldn't connect, just shows "connecting". Strange behavior, in this state when I click on "send to mobile" in Nokia Store on my PC, I notice something happening on my phone - not getting the app from the store anyway. This behavior happens even if I close Drop on my phone.
Now I removed Drop and Notification Support Package, trying to install again.

Nope... not working anymore. Could it be interfering with some app I installed recently? Nokia VPN?

Wouldn't like to state the obvious... appearently the Notification services are not working OR are not being invoked by the Drop app itself.

Versions I have now:
Drop beta for Belle v. 1.04(12154)
Nokia Notification Support Package v. 1.05(31215)

Since Notification package is installed by means of SmartInstaller, I have no control on what version I have, does anyone have a different version? Too bad I didn't keep track of this info when Drop was actually working...

To do a test, I'd like to install a different version of Notification package... is there a way to get around Smart Installer and get a different release?

Another SURPRISE!!! I was looking around on the Nokia Store and I couldn't find Drop anymore!!! On the Store website I found it, but it's declared not to be available (compatible?!') for my 701. It is available for an E7-00, anyway... Sound weird doesn't it?

My Nokia 701 Belle FP1 also keeps "Connecting".
I'm using the beta version: 1.4.12154

mario.sacchi: we have actions ongoing to update newer version of Nokia Drop also in Store and with that update Belle devices are also added as supported devices in Nokia Store.

bprix: do you have any possibility to flash your device? that could help with the connecting issues. At least flashing the phone has helped other users. We are still looking root cause for that bug.

The Flashing of the device is a good idea, but please remeber that pre installed Apps are gone.
In my case it was the video and photo editor.
If there is a way to get these apps back please post a case.

On nokia 700 not connecting.
Few days the program was working fine. Now there's no connection.For example when I am sending a picture of the browser on my phone, it shows loading but then nothing happens.

Got my 808 today, called her Purdy.

Firmware is 112.020.0310. Nokia Drop 1.4.12154 installed and connected without any trouble.

Phew!
