I use opera for 8 years - on more platform. Ff and chrome is not so fast, comfortable, and they need twice more ram.
It would be very nice to see an opera plugin.
Other thing what i dont understand - nobody makes qr code generator plugin - but its an another thing.

Support for Internet Explorer 9 would be appreciated. Also, the ability to open URLs in the default browser instead of Nokia Web.
If I set Opera Mobile as my default browser then this link should open with that instead of Nokia Web.

I would suggest to also support 'any' browser by creating a web page from which push content form PC to mobile. For example at work i must use IE on a remote terminal server :-( and I cannot install anything on that PC. So a web page with 'uploading' capabilities would be helpful and cross-browser.

This definitely sounds like a really good idea. :-)
A simple web-page at "drop.nokia.com" with a Textbox for copy&paste (or typing), and a "Drop this to phone" button would be simple and effective.
AND could be used for either dropping links, or small text-bites.

yes - Nokia made a great feature in the Symbian OS s to allow the user to set their preferred browser.
Now they make apps that over-ride that preference setting and force "Web" to open
Yes, I do. Or remove the setting from S^3 because now it only confuses people. I don't see a reason for Nokia Drop to not support default setting. It looks like a simple omission on developer's side.
I agree with krisq. There are many apps which hard code the browser to open links with to Nokia web, such as Gravity.
Nokia's own browser's UI isn't that good compared to Opera Mobile/Mini so the user should have the option to switch.
Of course they should support IE. It was meant as a joke, note the smiley...
I expect that it is not ill will but some technical difficulties that prevents it (currently). So a little patience might help here.

Thanks for the feedbacks. It was easiest to start with Firefox and Chrome extensions, but we will add the IE support into "wanted features" list. And we will also check that default browser case.

Guys... The app is no good to those of us who are restricted to using Internet Explorer, still the most popular browser which this app does not support.

if you cannot make an IE extension, then make a server application or a windows gadget please. I hate using 3rd party browsers to clutter up my registry.

A bookmarklet, at least for text/links, should do the job for all the browsers where nobody wants to create an add-on for.

There are many users of Opera browser out there, on smart phones as well as on Pc/Mac. They would have more users if only services like Nokia Drop, Evernote and other apps/programs would make simple plug-in like the ones for Firefox and Chrome. The same applies for IE. My suggestion is that there should be more supported browsers, Opera, Safari, IE etc.
It is funny that after the 11.02.2011 announcement, ie is not supported

Its a good application, it should be able to transfer other files as well so that you can have a briefcase kind of thing to synchronize after each working day!

@bgagan I don't think transferring other files over Push is be a good idea. At max, files of size up to 10 MB is ok, but beyond that, it will take a lot of time to send files via this.
Think about the simplicity at this. Drop is supposed to quickly send something to your phone such as a URL or a small image. If you want to transfer files then you have Bluetooth/Dukto already.
Will install once IE support is available. Until then it is useless to me as I dont use other browsers.
This will be good for me if it supports Safari browser. Any chance of this some time in the very near future??

Would be nice if you could offer an Opera extension too. Before you complain that Opera doesn't have such a big market share, you shouldn't forget, that Opera ASA is one of the few companies that still supports Symbian with their mobile browsers ;)

i have already done so. Clicking the give feedback link on the download page offered me a box to write feedback. I didn't expect it to make a new forum post for me.
Right. And btw, this thread doesn't even make much sense, just check your betalabs Apache(or whatever) logs and add support in order to the user numbers.

This is a great idea and works fine on my N8 with firefox 4 however it would be even better if you could have it work with other browsers ie, IE, Opera ect.
Also if we could send files from the pc to the phone via this would be great, like Dukto.
Keep up the good work lads, this is a great app but with a little more flexability could be awesome.

Rockmelt uses the Chrome engine, so the right click commands are working, but the app button next to the url field does not appeared, instead the app appear in the app edge and only directs to the history page of Nokia Drop

Just looked at thenvideo, and this is something that I've wanted for a while. These days though, my "PC" is an iPad. Any chance in a bookmarklet or app that could be made that would add this functionality between these platforms?
*I know; should not be talking about that tablet. But such would also be potential use cases and until a MeeGo tablet, I've got to suggest from what I've got.

I would use Nokia Drop if it supported Opera or Internet Explorer. Until then, no point in me using it! Love the idea though.
I agree. Those are the two browsers I use and there's no support for any of them. Come on Nokia, a simple Opera extension wouldn't be tough for you guys.

I must've miss something about the extension for Chrome only supports up to ver. 10. Now its already ver. 13 for the stable channel. The extension doesn't work.

But I didn't install it.
Waiting for Internet Explorer plug-in.
Never mind. I don't know what happened, but its okay now. Before it always gives me something along the line of "Error: can't send.". It works in FF, but doesn't in Chrome.
But like I said, today its already fixed, somehow.
