Stops working

2010-01-05 @ 02:00 by justinbrett1975
OK i installed this on my Nokia N97, and my trial upload worked fine. Since my first they have not appeared in image space, so I took a look at flickr to find the tags haven't been uploaded in the rest of my downloads. I'm unsure what I am doing wrong, is there a certain way to take photos or is this a bug?

Please kindly check the link below and see that you have the flickr settings as required.

http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-image-space#Browser_guidelines

Also, can you please post (or send) a link to your (public) photo(s) in flickr, having this problem.

Also (2), please let us know how you uploaded the photos: from phone with Share online client, from flickr website or with some tool like Flickr Uploadr etc.

Thanks, kindly,
Seve

My flickr account is justinbrett1975 http://www.flickr.com/photos/25939464@N02/ All the pictures in there have been uploaded since I installed this software. The photo of CEF electrical has all the relevent tags and everything added, where as the othere ones don't. I have checked on my photo details on my phone and the others don't have the additional tags after taking.
I have uploaded via the upload share application on my phone. I set flickr as default so they upload. There all uploaded from my phone.

The settings are correct, the problem is definatly the infomation tags are not being added to my photos. Is there any particualar method to try to take the photos or anything or a partucualr size they need to be?

We did a server update today (Jan.14). Would you please give it a try and see if your Flickr photos would be tagged and displayed correctly?

Yu

it still does't work.

I think the issue is down to the capture part of the software. when i take a photo and look at its details on my actual device there is location info but no other tags. The tags section is blank.

So the problem is before it being uploaded so it has to be a point of photo capture and it not doing what it should be.

I assume you have done hte Flickr set-up side of things first. I didn't and wonderered why it didn't work. Then realised and testing it from the Flickr end.

Then try going into your twitter account and geo-tagging some of the images already in there using twitter's own geo-tagging web app. These should then show on the image space website if that interface is working OK.

When you have tried all of this then try Image Space on you phone again and see what happens, checking that you have the location tags in the image again of course.

Image Space shows all files from your twitter account which have geotag data attached. It doesn't matter if they were taken via your phonen with Image Space or tagged after the fact. The only advantage of the phone Based Image Space tagging is that it should add the direction of pointing too.

The tags for location work fine, and thus shows up with the correct location on piccassa and other systems which show where the photo was taken.

Its the addiditonal tags which are not getting put in, which give infomation about the direction of the photo, which is the whole point of installing the software.

The first picture taken which works has the extra tags:
imagespace:hasdirection=true
imagespace:pitch=0
imagespace:pitchfract=0
imagespace:yaw=113
imagespace:yawfract=0

Since I have taken this first picture, none of the pictures I have uploaded show up, so after further investigation they don't have the above extra tags. I then uploaded the first picture again, which DID have the tags again, so its not the upload proccess, its not the flicker settings as its worked twice.
I've then looked at the photosd taken on my phone, and while the location tags are there, the above tags are not. As I would assume the problem is at the point of taking the photo.

I then Add the above tags manually to the flickr photo (one of them) and the directions thing works and it shows up on Nokia Image Space, no problem with the actual. Image Space viewer on the web.

Does sound like a mobile client issue then.

Have you tried uninstall and re-install of Image Space app?

Well the problem started on my old N97 which was replaced due to developing a fault. Since installing it on my new N97 it isn't working.

When i turn the camera on, the bar at bottom appears and shows the direction I'm aiming, after I calabrate my device compass, so up until then its working.

I've re-installed the application also, which didn't make a diffrence.

The product is a great idea, its just ashame it doesn't work for me.
