I third the request for S60v3 version, I would love to have the features that this promises, Additionally i seem to have screwed up my phone particularly in the java side(cant install any new java apps, huge UI lag etc) and this might save me the trouble of a hard reset.
This is going to be limited only for S60 5th edition. There are no plans to support previous Editions mainly because they are missing required enablers.
Firmware updates may bring some minor features also to S60 3rd Edition.
Nokia has two (!) phones based on the 5th Edittion (5800, N97), but the last two updates here, this Java Runtime and Ovi Maps, are just for this phones.
I have a phone about ONE (!) year old (6220 classic), and you could still buy this phone, but do you not want to support this phone anymore? Do I have to buy a new phone every year to get the most up-to-date applications?
I need maybe reinstall my Nokia Java runtime but i need then .sis -installer. Please where i can get it?
If i try launch 3D game / application which use java its crash and info is

S60 3rd FP2 is phone version, and phone model is 6650 (AT&T
after powering off midway thru a "factory restore" my phone {N95} now wont install most app's or games ? also it took about 4hrs b4 switching on during the restore. i actually thought that it was dead coz of switchin off during restore
since my last firmware update (5.15 for 6220c) java apps running very bad.
eg
trekbuddy,gpslivetrack nav4all are quitting after a while.
so my hope was to install a more stable jre,but its only for the 5th,
not for my nearly new 6220
