Not up to the mark when compared with Nokia Suite, Stop this project and think for supporting N9 with Nokia suite.

First, I must say that I was happy to find this version of Nokia Link. It is about the only way to sync content between N9 and Mac in a halfway convenient way without purchasing 3rd party software. That is worth 2 stars. Everything else is lacking. The app is slow and functionality is very limited. I also find that while it copied all the selected iTunes tracks to the N9, it apparently does not really finish the process. There are tracks that will not show up even after the N9 gets around to refreshing its library, and despite being selectable with a filebrowser they will not play since the "playlist is empty". Whenever I reconnect the phone the app tells me there are "48 tracks to be copied" then apparently proceeds to do so – but they never show. So while the N9 is truly showing itself as one of the best, if not even THE best phone ever to leave Espoo, this app is pretty much a letdown. Not worthy of the great accomplishment that is the N9.

System: 10.7.4 Harmattan: 1.2 Nearly works, very frustrating. Nokia Link needs to reliably work and to give feedback to the user about what it is doing. If your Nokia Link gets stuck then quit Nokia Link and delete or move the *.dat file at /Users/~/Library/Application Support/Nokia/Nokia Link and restart Nokia Link. This helped me make iTunes playlist syncing work.

This application is a joke. I did not pay 500€ for this joke. I want support for N9 in the Nokia Suite. I want my contacts and calendars to be synchronized. Even with my cheap C2-03 is possible.... Wake Up Nokia!!!!

Dont really see the point with it, its less resource hogging then nokia suite (witch still works with n9 if you install an early version i think its three) However nokia link is faily useless since copying files i can do just fine by plugging in the cable. There are even wireless solutions for this now aswell out there. Just reenable the n9 in suite and all will be better. Since it still support it with some tweaks it cant be hard implenting. Just lie to elop and say its for lumia, he cant tell the differance.

Nokia link does an ok job of syncing photos etc. As far as support PC software for a mobile is concerned I found it extremely lacking. Having used Nokia Suite with my N8 I was disappointed to find I would only be able to use Nokia Link with my N9. If compatability with Nokia Suite is not going to happen, features like Editing/sending sms, editing/syncing contacts, and browing/updating/downloading maps would be great editions.

I really don't understand why Nokia Links exist when Nokia Suite was already perfect. Why can't it sync at least my contacts and calendar? Nokia says that it is because the N9 already fulfilled that purpose because of it's syncing capabilities for contacts and calendar. Thats BS! The only thing that Nokia Links does is transferring Music, video's and pictures, and making back-ups. Note that the last can also be done with the phone. Transferring music etc can also be done without Nokia Link. So why do we even need Nokia Link? So Nokia Link has no purpose without the option of syncing contacts and calendar. I'm currently using Nokia Suite with my Nokia N9 using a loophole. You can easily find on google how to do it. It's not perfect but it at least can sync messages, contacts and calendar. I love Nokia but it's obvious that they are doing little for the N9 which has outselled the Lumia 800 and 710 together. Instead using Nokia Suite, they chose a different path for the N9 without any good reason.

Useless software. Sorry, but all we need is a software to syncronize with Microsoft Outlook (I don't have a server that I can use for sync via Outlook for Exchange).

Absolutely useless without calendar/contact sync and other funcionality available in Ovi Suite. "This is not part of our plans" is not the answer, because next time it would be Nokia "not part of MY plans". Listen to your customers, we are the persons paying money here. Uninstalled this application 5 minutes after installing it. Now using older version of PC Suite, luckily it supports N9.

Yet to confirm is this is the version that solves the iTunes syncing issues for those migrating their loved music to N9, but I believe it should.... The fact that it can show detailed info of storage usage in various categories is a great improvement. Sometimes backup does not work & gives errors. There is still more room for improvements and surprises such as managing apps, clearing cache, etc Keep up the good work and surprise us again like the Nokia Sleeping Screen for N8 & E7-00!!

Synchronisation works better with Windows Explorer, MediaMonkey or Nokia Music Player. I really miss the Nokia Suite (sync with Outlook, Photos, Music, Apps, Maps in ONE place). The N9 deserves better!

I have found Link to be pretty much unusable. First off I had and an issue with music files not syncing fully and album art not coming over. I have a Mac and use iTunes and I got a 64GB N9 to hold most of my music. For album art, not all mp3 tracks have the art embedded in iTunes, but after running a script that does embed, Link still does not transfer all the art. Not the worst thing in the world, but annoying. What is REALLY annoying is that there are "illegal characters" that Link cannot handle in the artist or track title. Things like/?"|. I found that I had 300 or 4000 or so tracks that had to be manually edited and I think that is not acceptable. Lastly, I find that Link is not recognising files that have been synced already. 4000 tracks takes up about 35GB on the phone. A sync takes about an hour first time off. Nect time I plug in the phone, it does a full scan (loads of CPU and fans by the way) and then tells me that there are 4000 new tracks and I need to free up space on the phone. Reboots, reinstalls etc. don't change this. I appreciate this is beta, but it shouldn't be this hard to sync music with a laptop. The feature I really liked in iOS5 was wifi sync and I'd love to see that incorporated, or let's just get hte N9 working with Nokia suite

I have mixed feelings about Nokia Link. On the one hand, the latest version works fine, has a slick interface and so far has done for me what it should. I alos like the fact that I can do a complete Backup of my N9 files and data. But, as many have pointed out, the app crucially lacks contact and calendar sync for those who do not want to sync over the cloud. Also, I'd like to see Nokia Link not only with the N9, but also with S40 phones (a possible future feature, as the website indicates) as well as with Symbian^3 (+Anna,Belle,...) phones.

It is simple programm to copy files "from - to". Can't delete music files from phone. Nokia PC Suite do it more beter and have more options, I use it. Is it better improve existing Ovi Suite, than to make new?

Unlike it seems many other people I really like this app, for exactly the reason that most of you hate it. It's not Ovi Suite! It just syncs the stuff I actually want to sync on my N9 with my local machine. Videos, Pictures and Music. There are still a few bugs in the OSX version and there's still room for some improvement, but it's a great product idea and so far it's functional.

New version works better than old one. But still, very amateurish and limited software. Sync contacts? Sync calendar? Where is that? I have to use iSync (OSX) for that, why can Nokia not provide software for this basic function? N9 is not an mp3 player, it's a smartphone. The software itself isn't to bad, but since it's missing the most important function it only deserves 1 star.

Useless in comparison to Nokia Suite. Would really be better to just have the Suite compatible with N9 (which it was in an old version), so that all your Nokia phones, regardless of OS, can sync against the same contact/image database and so on. To top things off, Nokia Link wont even work properly for me. When using the official non-beta fron Nokia.com i get a message saying that there's too little free memory on the device to continue, although I have LOTS of free memory on the phone. When using this beta, I instead get another random error. Those errors always appears when it's "Checking your media", which by the way takes like FOREVER to even get past 55%. Quite frankly, this application is of no use to me right now.

Compared to nokia suite, i find it useless, just make the next version of nokia suite compatible with nokia N9. as an old nokia customer (always used nokia phones: 3510, 6100, e50, e52, now n9), i am used in working with the same products, please do not dissapoint...

After 15 years with Nokia the N9 was the best phone I've ever had. But Nokia Link is just a bad joke, no syncing with my PC. No one needs such a poor software, because copying is easy without. I will never, never, never buy a windows phone-based Nokia - and I think meego is the best system, that Nokia ever created. So the N9 will definately be my last Nokia - although "Nokia Link" is a piece of ****. Sorry, Nokia, shame on you!

I was very happy to show an app like this for the fabulous Nokia N9. The idea is good. But this one is very very poor: really not useful!!
