The unique thing you have to improve is the HTML view. When you activate the HTML view the inbox goes blank screen.

When you change between plain text and HTML it always requires full email sync. During this process screen is "blank".
Normally, there is no need to change this setting - just leave it to plain text or HTML.
To be more precise it is not full HTML - the right term would be "rich text" or "limited HTML support".

Sorry I was meaning after the full re-sync the screen is blank. I've tested it at work ;) now I believe that's an issue related to my devices. I've tested more than one 302 and 303- All devices present the same scenario
