Software: OS 10.5.6; Nokia Device Browser v.1.91; Nokia Map Loader 1.0; Nokia Maps 2.0 Hardware: Nokia N95 (S60 3rd Ed.); MacBook Pro (MBP) The cons: It was difficult to get the MBP to communicate with the N95. In the end, a re-format of the N95s MiniSD card did the trick. The pros: The Nokia Map Loader worked perfectly via a USB connection once the software/hardware (MacBook Pro & N95) was installed and properly configured. Map downloads and transfers worked without a hitch. The application interface is very intuitive. In particular the "history feature", which keeps track of installed maps is useful. I would definitely recommend the Nokia Map Loader to Mac/N95 owners. Many thanks for generating this app. It should have been available much earlier as part of the installation CD one gets with the N95 purchase.

If we can take maps loader to be an example of Nokia's upcoming Mac software effort then I must say this is an excellent start. Nokia have done a great job at giving the application a mac "feel" and it does not feel like a half-hearted port of the Windows app as I feared it might. The application is straightforward and simple to use (although packaging Nokia Multimedia transfer in the download when this is released to the general public might be a good idea) and I look forward to seeing the mac version of Ovi suite.

Having been through a few generations of Nokia smartphones (3250, 6600, e61), and always using a Mac for my main computer, has had me frustrated in the past with the lack of Nokia/Mac support. So much so that I have an old PC I keep around solely for the needs of Nokias. However, things are indeed changing and Nokia Map Loader for Mac is a shining example of a nearly flawless OSX integration. Nokia Maps is a feature I use on a regular basis. I never thought I'd need portable maps at all until I sold my car a couple years ago which had in-built navigation system. I paid over
