I have a question: How do I dim the display brightness at night?
Even with “night mode” selected, the bright display distracts me from the road.
I had thought the “backlight” setting would do this; perhaps the “optimised” setting, but that doesn’t appear to do anything.
As a workaround, I set “backlight” to “system default”, then go in the phone setting and turn down the brightness. None of which I really aught to be doing when driving!

Agree, this should be a suggestion - "optimised" mode doesn't seem to do anything on my N8-00.
Would love the optimised (or another setting?) to provide something like:
- automatic day/night depending on time of day/time of year;
- screen brightness dimmed (tho, this may need user input as this is very much to taste - like the op above I would have this very low as the screen is too distracting when driving in dark conditions);
