WiFi requirment and map refinement

2012-02-23 @ 07:18 by piyushmamta
1. I dont understand why the hell i need WiFi connection for map loader to work when i have 3G sim in my phone with unlimited data plan. No Logic. Please remove this limitation...

2. Your INDIA map need drastic improvements and refinement. Major state highways are missing. I drove on a state highway at 70-80 kmph for about an hour and map showed me driving through the fields (Very disappointing). Few cities are wrongly shown on map. E.g. Jansath is shown where Khatauli is in UP, India. Same i reported using Map Reporter long time back but it seems no one looks at the feedbacks in Nokia.

The only way to download maps using a data connection is to use Nokia maps in online mode, it will download the necessary maps everytime that it need it.
About the reason to use only the wifi in the maps loader, the Nokia maps team explained who has a limited plan can use it very quickly and not all "unlimited" are not so unlimited, after a limit, the carrier changes the speed limit or you have to pay the exceeded transfer, etc.

Hi Navio,

Whatever be the case, user should have an option to select the data channel of his choice. Nokia should just give a pop up window suggesting use of WiFi network as it happens in Nokia Ovi Store. Don't you agree??
