A really good improvement over previous mail client in Symbian, but the client uses the main memory, which is a CON since there is little internal memory, after updating and isntalling, Nokia Messaging, Ovi Store and Ovi Maps, I have less than 30mb free in my N97, now add mails with attachments, I have left like 5mb. Another problem, having a N97 I have 32Gb of Mass Storage and a 16Gb MicroSDHC card, so I have 48Gb, but I can't isntall the client in any of those memories. Another big CON. For those reason I'm giving only 2 stars, why create disabled (in memory terms) phones and provide memory hungry apps

I've updated firmware 21.0.025 on nokia 5800. Though its working good atleast better than built in client. Still, I'm not satisfied with its use and made me to uninstall it finally because of two reasons: 1. It crashed sometimes just by scrolling emails. 2. No visual notification like @ in top. Though it has sound alert but thats not enough when you're on move. You can miss sound alert easily. Suggestions: 1. There must be visual notification. 2. It would be good if it get integrated with bulit in client with its own platform to see e-mails just like SEVEN. But storage not just limited to phone memory like SEVEN which is bad side of seven. 3. It must be little more touch optimized. 4. It must be stable. Must not be crashes. 5. There should be HTML compatibility Good Sides: 1. Nice Visual 2. Takes Less RAM 3. I think it's also not taking too much battery consumption 4. Good e-mail delivery time. I'm expecting any feedback from Nokia Beta Labs working on this. Thanks

I think the version for 5800 XM is not yet stable/mature enough. I've tried to download it by following the procedure described. OK, I could setup my gmail account and receive the SMS. By the way, If I think the tens times I setup email accounts by just providing user/password/servername, this sounds like a pervert absurd setup. Why cannot a "messaging" application simply be an e-mail client? Anyway, after all the above, I tried to open the "@ mail" icon, it starts querying the server endlessly and nothing else happens. Worse, even if I prior connect the phone via WLAN, it keeps using the Internet connection from my mobile operator, is this a bunch with operators to suck us money? Finally, I was trying to see how the messaging application works, simply because the existing mail client in the 5800 has this idiotic thing, that you cannot actually delete a message from the phone only. You must choose either to delete the local copy, but keep the header in the phone, or to delete the message completely, which means from the server too. Now, I cannot figure out how the Nokia software developers can possibly think for a second that this can be work well. Maybe they only write "messaging applications", but for their correspondence they still use letter paper and fountain pen... In any case I have 3 mail accounts, with an average of 4000 (four-thousands...) messages in each. I use the server as a centralised storage for them, and I delete them every 1-2 years, after a DVD backup. Clearly I cannot keep them on a 8Gb phone. In conclusion, the 5800 seems to have a fairly good hardware, but it also seems that Nokia is mostly interested in equipping it with teenager-oriented applications, such as the media player. Calendar is poor (for instance, you cannot manage multiple calendars), mail quite sucks, with the problem described and without support for HTML/PDF/DOC/XLS etc. attachements. That's quite frustrating...

Great program, i know some of the obvious parts are missing, but will come soon (html, integration into 5800 notification system, default email when clicking on web page email link etc.) My recommendations: 1. kinetic scrolling (similar to gravity implementation) would greatly enhance usability. 2. memory management. Not sure if it's a bug, but c: drive space slowly gets full because of nokia messaging, I've reinstalled all of my programs to install on to the microSD card.. but still run out of c space. Possibly add option to install on to microSD? 3. possibly add gesters for deleting a message.. swipe to the left to delete. possibly with "are you sure?" dialogue. Thanks for a great product. Kevin

The application as such is very good and easy to use. But ! It works only if you are registered in Nokia Messaging service. Boring... To many registrations needed...

I was using the application without the Email notification option on the home screen. The lack of visual notification is HORRID! Although you can use Messaging in sync with the homescreen email notification kudos for that! but only for one account :( The application is mostly stable but has crashed on me a few times! i can't accurately tel you why. Overall i love the application

The graphic is nice. But, it's too slow, and there is no HTML support to view emails in HTML. I also hoped that I will be able to compose emails in HTML but it doesn't look so.

Just got this for my N97 and I've already uninstalled it and gone back to the not so great built in email client. It's incredibly slow, It takes forever to scroll through anything, HTML doesn't display, touching the screen doesn't do anything half the time despite the fact it shows that you've touched it, you have to use the D-pad to navigate through practically everything, the main menu that we're all used to seeing in the E71 that shows all your mailboxes isn't there anymore, and when you TRY and change your mailbox, using your finger takes like 30 taps, if it even works. Using the D-pad works flawlessly, but we got this because we want to use our touchscreen. I'm going to ProfiMail because even though it isn't perfect, it's the best email client available for S60 5th.

i have 3 e-mail accounts set up. 2 Hotmail accounts and 1 gmail account and i love the program! even though the internet connection is on it doenst eat much battery. it lets me know when there is a new email and in which account it is. what needs to be fixed is that when i close the app i want it to shut down the internet connection as well.. now it stays on even though the app is off

I've been looking around for a HTML e-mail app for the 5800, and this is the only app I've found so far. These can be seen as some of the plus points of the app: - Easy setup. You can either setup your email account through the phone itself or via the the website. - Connectivity to multiple e-mail services (hotmail, yahoo, gmail, etc). - Ability to run in the background and near instantaneuous mail retrieval. However, the app definitely needs to improve in the following aspects: - Touch optimization: at the moment the touch operability of the app on the 5800 is really poor. Areas like scrolling, opening links within mails, switching mail boxes is really cumbersome when you use just your fingers. With the stylus, performance is a bit better, but overall this requires much improvement. - Installation and mail storage: the app does not give you an option to select either where the app will be installed or where downloaded emails will be stored and by installs itself into the phone's memory and all downloaded messages and attachments are also stored in phone memory. This cuases the C drive fill up and you will end up having to delete mails every so often to make space. - Lack of graphical notification: currently the app only features new mail notification by way of tone and vibration alerts. In case you miss the alert tone, you wont know that you've got new mail till you go into the app the next time. There definitely has to be visual notification when you receive new mails. - Color schemes: the current color scheme of the app looks very dull and there are no options to manually change the colors either. Ideally, the color scheme of the app should also change as per the color schemes used by the theme in use. - Use of gestures for mail operations: such as tilting leaft and right o reply and forward, turning over to send, shaking to delete a mail, etc., Since the app is still in Beta State, we can hope that Nokia will take into consideration these and other issues and will make the app much better one for final release.

Works perfectly no issues I must say however the colour scheme is a bit grey and drab - The V3 version is way more colourful. More options for send and receive, being able to set your own time frame instead of preset ones would be good Some option to permanently delete an e-mail rather than sending to deleted folder and having to empty that folder to (as in SHIFT DELETE in outlook)
