I´m been using Ovi Suite 3.0 Beta since the launch. The first beta version worked fine. I working with HP Elitebook with Win 7 Pro, Nokia N8-00 (PR1.0, 011.012.240.01) and Office Outlook 2007 SP 2.
After I installed the new version 3.0.0.271 Beta I have come across some problems. The first sync (Sync all) after instalation goes fine. After I restart the system the problems start.
- I get a message "Nokia M Platform has stopped workin" while doing sync of messages.Sometimes I get the message even when I´m not syncing anything.
- The more severe problem is syncing contacts between Outlook, Ovi Suite and Nokia N8. As I mentioned, the first sync after installatipon goes fine. After restart, sync starts fine, but it gets stuck after the processbar is aprocsimately half way threw. I dont get any error messages. The prosess just freezes. If I try to cancle the sync it just gets stuck in cancelation.
I can solve the problem by un-installing Ovi Suite Beta and It´s components and all Nokia folders from Appdata/Local and Appdata/Roaming and then re-installing Ovi Suite Beta. But after that the same problem re-occures.
With the previous version of Ovi Suite (2.2) I could never sync Contacts, appointments or anything else connected to Outlook.

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback. Could you please send us logs and crash dumps to investigate on this issue?
Instructions are available here:http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-ovi-suite-3-0-beta-by-invitation/bu...
Hi Sonu 2010!
I´ve added the logs- file to a detailed error reporting form. The title is the same as this bug reports. There is no crash dump, because the program doesn´t crash.
topisohlo,
The MDatastore database may be corrupted. You could try to delete that and reopen NOS and see if that helps but this has the drawback that also all contacts and text messages that might be stored in Ovi Suite will be deleted. Also other metadata may be lost (music playlists, photo albums, etc). The path of MDataStore.db3 file is:
Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase
Windows Vista/Windows 7:
C:\Users\AppData\Local\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase

Thanks Kale for your suggestion. I´m sorry to inform that no help with removing the DataBase. Same problem persists.
Before I removed the database, I have also updated NOS to 3.0.0.282 and tried to sync the contacts. But no help. Firs sync after update goes fine, but after that sync gets stuck, in the latest case in the very end (progressbar full) of syncing contacts.
I have an N8 (version 011.012). I am being forced to use NOS version 3.0.0.284 and my trusty MS Outlook 2003.
Having done the initial sync which went well or so I thought, I noticed that some of the contacts had lost the phone numbers although the rest of the data was fine. No matter how I enter these numbers the sync deletes them. I have even deleted the contact from Outlook, sync, enter new contact in N8, sync, all ok. same again for another contact and oh dear where have the original contact telephone numbers gone and so-on.
can I have PC Suite back again with which I had no problems at all.
Hi all! I am also a user of Nokia N8 and facing the same problem with the synch of contacts with microsoft outlook. I was told to upgrade both my Ovi version and Phone OS version but still encounter the same error. My Ovi version is 3.0.0.290 and Phone is PR11 013.016. My Outlook is 2003 SP3. The message that I keep getting is 80043b1d. Can anyone here help?
