Thank-you for caring!
As it was very much looking like for the longest time!
Now just hurry-up with Nokia Car Mode already* & I'll never say a bad word against Nokia again.
Well maybe never, it's a love/hate relationship, esp. since the events of the past 15mth!
*as promised several times, beta been avail for Symbian phones for many mth now.

Thanks for your nice words. Now it's a little bit difficult to develop for meego because Nokia has set a different focus but thanks to the committed developers and leadership in berlin making that happend.
Well... I spoke too soon...
I've actually tried using the app & it's almost 100% useless here in Australia.
How do you expect this app to be useful in countries the N9's officially available & common?
The data needed for those countries, is still not accessible/usable by the app!
You seem to only care about data from countries where the N9 & S^3 handsets aren't common.*
There's at least one other N9 & S^3 app from betalabs that's neutered in the same way.
It's great for NA & "okay" for the EU, but pretty useless to many other chunks of the world.
A cynic would argue that this & the Symbian client, are testing apps to improve NPT for WP7x.
And I tend to agree....
So I retract my "thank-you for caring" remark.
*there are exceptions ofc...
Sorry to don"t fulfill your expectations :(
The N9 client provides you the same coverage than WP and Symbian version. You're right, actually nokia is focusing on providing coverage in their main markets (currently WP7) and yes, it looks strange if you compare the coverage with the N9 markens. But the coverage will grow worldwide step by step .. the legal things are not easy here.
And how do you figure that they're your main markets?
Those are the markets you're doing terribly in, & have been for yrs.
You should be equally focused (or more) on markets that care about Nokia.
And thanks for the "thumbs down", I gave you one too.
Hi Jalyst, I am spending my vacation in Australia and I am in Melbourne this week ;-) If you are accidentally living in Melbourne let me know and we could meet to discuss Nokia Public Transport.
Pino
Hi Pino, alas no I live in Brisbane,
But I think you will love Melbourne, if you take some time to explore.
There's so much to see in Australasia, you can't see it all in one vacation.
Don't cram your itinerary with too may things, slow-it-down & enjoy the ride.
Thanks for the kind offer to speak to me about NPT while you're in Australia.
But I'm not sure what good that'd do, other than to intrude on your holiday.
Have a good one mate!
P.S.
Can you give us a more accurate time-frame on Nokia Car Mode yet?
The last info. you shared was still very vague.
@proddi
Something happened to your latest post, it's no longer in this thread.
I can see in the email summary that your responded to post #4.
But I can only read part of your response...
Cheers
Please advise when you plan to support more cities in Australasia...
At the moment you support ZERO (except for simple routing info) cities in Oz.
At the very least the 3 largest (Melb/Syd/Bris) should be supported.
Thank-you.
Hi Jalyst,
I'm always glad to meet with our most dedicated testers. Now, regarding Nokia Public Transport, we are committed to extend the coverage as much as we can and this is true on all platforms. In fact the info we are collecting from transportation authorities are delivered to maps.nokia.com, to the Nokia Belle app, the Nokia Lumia app, the Nokia N9 app and so on.
In Brisbane, for instance, we are gradually integrating all the info from TransLINK.
Nokia Car Mode for Nokia N9 is currently undergoing an internal test phase. Now, I know the app was due a while ago, but we have to fix some glitches before releasing it, even as beta. The reason why we do not give an exact date is simply this: as soon as we are confident we are releasing it, however there is no way to know on which exact day this is going to happen. I'm sure you understand that we don't like you to wait.
Pino
Thanks for responding Pino,
All this half support, non-support, & back-peddling (e.g. Pulse) is very frustrating.
When wider coverage comes to NPT & Nokia Car Mode is ready, Nokia must communicate that "instantly" & clearly!
Enjoy your holiday.
Agree, thanks for bringing to N9 even though there is probably not a big N9 user base considering the current cities available. The UI for the travel planner looks nice though. Maybe you can make the hour/minute wheels a little wider for bolder fingers.
Keep up the good work!
Henrik
@Pino
This is totally off-topic, but as discussed earlier in this thread, is Nokia Car Mode any closer?
