Have you tried rebooting the device or installing Reader application again?
To Readerbeta: I have surely tried rebooting as well as deleting and re-installing again. Nothing helps. After pressing "go online" the application closes itself.
this description sounds like the problem i got on my 5800:
after launching nokia reader it shows
"Connecting..."
"signing in..."
and then the "Go online"-button appears. when i press it, "Connecting..." appears again for some seconds, switching back to "Go online"...
when i look in to the phones protocol, i can see, that the wifi-connection is established successfully (11kb download-traffic, 6kb upload-traffic).

I started using it not long after its announcement on the beta site and it worked well for a time but lately it hasnt worked at all...it just sits there with "Connecting" and then "Signing in" on the screen.
Have tried selecting online and offline in the options menu and restarting, uninstalling and re-installing and rebooting but nothing...

Same problem here!
After PR1.1 update the reader stucks at "Loading..." screen and nothing happens.
Reinstall works fine but doesn't solve the problem!
I have the same problem. The reader was working fine but then it suddenly stopped functioning. It gets stuck at loading as a widget. Sucks, I really liked this app.
Mine wasnt working as well for some time but this morning I bit the bullet and decided to update the firmware (wasnt going to wait around for my phone company to release the update) and now the reader works...
Hey, I too have the same issue with my N8. I installed the reader and it worked fine for a day or 2 and then the 'Connecting' msg comes up. I uninstalled and reinstalled the App but after some time the same problem appeared. Can we expect a fix soon because the App in iteslf is kind of cool.

Installed it on a friends' N8, who uses far less feeds and still going strong..
Too bad.. Want to use more RSS..
If you have Bubbles installed, then the Reader is not going to work because of QT compatibility. I had to uninstall Bubbles, uninstall Reader, reboot, installed Reader v1.1 and that seemed to have fix the issue. I'd rather take functionality and information over eye candy. :) Also, Nokia sleeping screen does not break the application either. QT incompatibility issues need to be fixed with the next firmware update.
I guess MontyN95 is right.
I used Reader for a long time next to Bubbles.
Deinstalled Bubbles, because they are fun at first, but not usefull in the long run. I like sleeping screen better.
I'll wait for a new reader version.
The Nokia Reader was fast and easy, but there are other good Google readers out there.
Uptodate N8, bubbles never installed. Reader worked fine until weekend when got "Ovi Notifications error - service is not avalable.Try to restart... or reinstall"
Tried both but reader still not working.

@Montyn95 : Is it the beta version? Are all the QT based apps functioning properly? Ovi store for instance.
Sleeping screen is brilliant. :)
I've never had a problem with Qt apps working. Even when I installed the beta version of 4.7.2
Now that the official release is out, that's what I use, and still everything still works OK. Bubbles, Reader, Ovi Store, Sleeping Screen....
I had Reader stop working for some time a while ago, but since the new version, it's been ok
Sleeping Screen is amazing!!
I'm having the same problem. I used it all well and good for few(3ish) days. Since the past 7 or so days, it's been saying either reboot your phone or do a clean reinstallation of the application. Tried both. Doesn't work :(. I really want this application, one of the Most useful things around!

Ok I have recently reinstalled the app and it is now very stable and does not freeze. I'm guessing a component has been installed with another app that has contributed to this - now an excellent must have app
