Adding more Installed Applications/nokia Sleeping Screen says v0.55(7), C:/Phone memory.
edit: Problems fixed now. Had to take first .sis smartinstaller link from the top of download page. Another issue might need to uninstall old "Qt components for Symbian" beta package, NSS smartinstaller brings most up-to-date Qt components.

Do you remember if you have installed Qt Quick Components technology preview earlier:

In that case you need to manually remove Qt Quick Components and re-install NSS, using SmartInstaller package. In that way Qt Quick Components gets updated correctly. Does that help?

No I have not installed it by hand, installed apps list did not show it if that where it should be seen and unistall.
QtInfo app displays blank on QtQuick/Qt Component row, NSS reinstall always prompts for missing Qt quick components package. It tries to install it(?) nothing failed but still no go.
So real problem is SmartInstaller is unable to install QtQuick components for Symbian, still installer gives no error messages ?
I've rebooted C7 several times already.
Did you have working network connection and you used the SmartInstaller package (not the one in the end of the download page)?

SmartInstaller should download the missing Qt Quick Components.
Jari: You win, I had browsed down to the end of download page, clicked the last .sis link and was happy. Well, did not realize there was a proper .sis smartinstaller at the start of download page.
Everything is sorted now, it was just me not reading download page properly.

Yes it is strongly recommended to use the SmartInstaller package. We just wanted to offer also that 'faster' NSS only package for those who are sure their Qt-libraries are up to date.

I have updated Anna on my C7 and checked all the QT´s are in place too. However the new version of Sleeping Screen will not install. And yes, I used the smart installer package from top of the screen. Nothing wrong with my internet connection either.
Installation starts normally but after a while it stops with a message "network connection lost" and "installation cancelled". After that it recommends to start again later by opening "smart installation" from applications menu. This app runs a while and ends up with "installation error".
I have tried to re-isntall the old version but it does not install anymore either.

Reinstalling Qt Components didn't work for me. Still got a blank screen. Downgraded from QtMobile 1.2 to 1.1.3, this made the screen saver work.

After install the SleepingScreen I can´t open the Settings Menü to use a Background or make a Setting the Screen is Black and no reaktion !
On my Phone is the Nokia Bubbles and BigScreen App installed on Symbian Anna the Version 0.50 of Sleeping Screen works the QT Versions up to Date !
Restart and new installation from the different Versions with Smart installer and App only takes no Effekt !
As early pointed out by jari.kinnunen on http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-sleeping-screen/bugreport/36824/bla... it could be related to QT Quick Components being a former installation of the preview version.
I fixed the same problem following his instructions. Remove the QT Quick Components from the Application Manager (I also deleted the Slepping Screen application) and start again the installation procedure with the Smart Installer package.

Yes, please use the "upper download" link in the TryIt page. That includes the SmartInstaller tool which will update Qt-packages if needed. And ensure that you have a working network connection: either packet data or WLAN.

The lower "download" link is only for manual installation if you are really sure that your Qt-libraries are up to date. For example one pitfall with that is that it may give a warning "Qt Quick Components are missing", but it does force stopping the installation thus leading in broken application.
I have a N8 with OS version: 014.002, product code: 0599221 and it just doesn't work... I reinstalled it several times, tried uninstaling, installing QT, mobility, etc and installing again... doesn't work, tried the first link with the smart installer, it worked one time without changing any seetings, but I changed ONE thing and it stopped working again... (I can see the settings screen, but when I lock the cellphone it just keep with a black screen, no clock, nothing)

after installing this update, i lost my nokia sleeping app. because when i try change images my screen go on blank and i need to close all apps

You could check with the Application Manager that you have "Qt Quick Components" installed. This is needed for the NSS settings screen.
When installing NSS check that you have working network connection and you use the SmartInstaller package.

I had this bug too the first 3 times I tried to install , but then I un-installed "Qt Quick Components" and tried again, and this time it worked, and downloaded the new version of "Qt Quick Components"
The so-called smart-installer was not smart enough to see that I needed a new version of "Qt Quick Components"

Excuse me,but How I can find anna's update? My phone SW Update doesn't show anything and on PC and Ovi Suite there's nothing...
And I'm agree with jari.kinnuen, I've used both links, and now I have the Sleeping screen application that runs smoothly and doesn't have the blank screen issue. That's Beautiful now.
@p.m musc it might be just that, your mobile version is tied to by firmware updates from the operator it was initially bought from. Look to this page: http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/product-support/device-software-update/ca... and see if that says anything. Once you find out your product code(that page shows you how) look it up by Google and see which operator firmware it actually is. SO for example if the operator is AT&T for that then your only option is to wait until they publish their firmware version for Anna.
There is one pitfall with the Qt Quick Components. If you have installed manually the so called "Qt Quick Components Technology Preview" from here

... or somewhere else the SmartInstaller does not realize that an update is needed. In that case the tech-preview version of Qt Quick Components needs to be manually de-installed before installing NSS SmartInstaller package which will then download the right Qt Quick Components.

It works for my N8 with Symbian Anna (recently upgraded), only unninstalling QT Components and NSS old version, and installing NSS with the http://betalabs.nokia.com/c?n=25271&t=http%3A%2F%2Fnds2.betalabs.nokia.c... file (the smart installer file) and automatically downloaded by this the QT Components.
Very cool App and Super enhanced Configuration..
I solved all my problems doing a hard reset and before install any app, i did a software actualization and recovered ovi store, social and now i can install all my favorites apps including sleeping screen.
Another way to solve the problem is to insert the " wifi " you are using to install the app, into : settings - connectivity - internet
The phone looks for/connects the adsl line twice: the first time at the beginning when you start the sys installation and the second time ( even if you do not note it ) a little bit later ... in this second moment, if the wifi/line is NOT in the list of settings - connectivity - internet
the phone does not complete the download of the right QT files ....

It's fine but on my N8-00 has no setting preview!
My software is version 14 and I had no problem on installing this on my device. When I installed it, it has beauty sleeping mode,I like to personalize it but it gives me a Black screen! and no preview!
I actually thought that this might be that my device hasn't updated to Anna Frimware. I'm living in Iran and still there's no Anna Update for my N8-00.
Installed version 0.55[9] on my Nokia N8 with Symbian Anna, looks nice for the moment, but the menu "Select a clock style" is grey underlined and I can´t change this.
me too, when I installed, it was working, but I changed the settings and now only black screen when lock the screen...

@oliveer Just guessing but if you have 1st or 2nd theme selected the "clock style" is grey on purpose. Since they can be changed with those two clock only themes. Try to select some other theme that has background images.
well,there's another link on the page, (The TOP link) I downloaded it (which has an installer) and I install both files on my N8, Now it works properly.

Installed the revised version of the Sleeping Screen but when I go into the configuration setting I get a black screen. The prior version of Sleeping Screen works fine. What could go wrong?

I uninstalled the previous version of sleeping screen to put the new one to the test. Problem, can't go into settings. I just get a blank black screen instead. Screen saver works though, but can't configure it?

Doesn't work with my N8. When I try to go to Sleeping Screen settings, the screen turns just black and I can't modify any settings. When the phone is locked there is the screen saver with battery indicator. I cannot choose anything else.
