Limited functionality, poor UI. I can't view my friend's friends, and this web-based UI is too slow. Maybe the next firmware's browsers will contain a better engine for widgets with HW acceleration. Or put it in a QT webview and it will be much fluider,

The Social application is working very fine!! There are some drawbacks though, as in with facebook notifications are not seen in the home page!! also updating is not efficient!! also opening any photos takes a hell lot of time!!

Widget is really bad!! What's its purpose?? Show some status update?? FB widget purpose has to be to show notifications and messages alerts (audio and on the display) and AFTER to show status updates etc.. About the app.. Scrolling feedback is bad, really bad. We want it as ovi store AT LEAST! Loading is yet slow.. Can't you put in a low priority separate thread images and less important stuff?? So it loads important content more faster and scrolling will better in fluidity! I have to admit that it works well for functions that are available.

Way too disappointed that even Nokia is not releasing any social app for s60v5. Only Symbian^3, what the hell! Do you want me to buy new mobile in just few months again? It's a shameless move, you Nokia. And anyways, given this scenario, if I've to buy, I'll never buy another Nokia, as you'll again try making those obsolete in few months. You suck Nokia, Big Time!! Life's Game, Play On !!!

Tried the new version on N8. The updating time is same as earlier...slow. Nokia should provide audio and visual notifications on home screen when there an update on Facebook.

Application is extremely SLOW! I'm not talking about updating time, i'm talking about scrolling and stuff like that. It's so slow that's not useful. Also, It doesn't support facebook notifications, and I'm not talking about home screen notifications, i mean "facebook" notifications, the ones you get when someone tags you in a photo or posts in your wall, etc. In the ICON where notifications should be you have only Friendship requests & Events invites. If you open the facebook main site, you'll see on the top left header a little ICON that looks like a GLOBE, right next to the facebook logo, well, that GLOBE is for showing notifications. You should implement that, since is one of the most important features of facebook!

The UI is unresponsive, totally ignores the native look and feel, doesn't even use the system fonts and colors. The widget is slightly better in this regard, but useless for another reason: tweets are unreadable as they simply don't fit on the screen. Symbian UI is finally moving in the right direction, let's leave these sub-standard WRT "applications" behind.

Well, I did not like that the auto compression feature has been disabled. We should get an option to either compress or upload the photo in its native form. This takes lot of time in uploading photos. Please enable this feature in full release

This is the bestsocial app I have used yet, it would be better if you were able to search for new people to follow on twitter and if it updated but saved where your up to in the tweet list so you dont have to go back to see what you have missed

By rapprot to the previous version, this new version is faster, more stable. At the moment very satisfied. It is a pity small options are still missing ;)

Retweet and photo upload with title were long needed. Good. Phonebook integration is beyond my abilities, I just don't know how to make it work AUTOMATICALLY. I mean, I have 722 contacts, and a little hand here is welcome. FB for other platforms do it. Socially does it, and I could find it even if it is in the third level of options of the app. Reconection screen asking for the password over and over is a turndown. Please REMEMBER the password already. Where are the FB notifications?. FB notifications is the 1st thing yo see on the FB page. Again, checking my notifications is beyond my abilities with this app. So, it is a little bit incomplete, and it's use is not straightforward. I would suggest a quick redesing or buying an app that already works and brand it with the nokia badge. Sorry guys, but at this point you are going the same path that ovi contacts team was. In three words: You are Lost.

I have a nokia E7 and I feel this update is much better but Nokia Social still has a long way to go. Nokia NEEDS to integrate Check-In option with social along with friend tagging which works like a charm on the BB/Android/IOS. Also why still no notifications? If these options are included I feel I will use social more often.

This feature along with other 'social/share' functions on the n8 are dissapointing. I was happy with the n95's capability to share with flickr/VOX (rip). I would also like to see more options for linkdin, foursquare and some of the more well used mediums. As far as facebook capability, it is pretty bad. There aren't up to date notifications of others as on the full website, or even the mobile site. The only thing that I like is that it is able to be a part of the homescreen... even then, you're still seeing old updates. Not a fan.

on my N8-00 social only worked for a few days until "script alert: sorry, please uninstall and reinstall social" message appeared. I was hoping that Social 1.3 may solve this. It has installed first time ok, but the "script alert" message is still there - anyone got any solutions?

This is a pretty good update which allows me to do most things on Facebook, however, one of the most common uses on Facebook is to view photos. Currently there are a few features lacking for photos: 1) Can't zoom into photos 2) Can't comment on photos (unless linked from News Feed) 3) Can't view comments (unless linked from News Feed) If you could add this functionality in, it would be excellent.
