no PC with windows at home, I need to be at work to flash my telephone ... I hope I won't be fired ... if so I won't be able to keep updating my phone.
(I trying virtualisation but for flashing process this doesn't work)
Please support linux community, this could convince people keeping using nokia phones instead of changing for Iphone.
Free ovi maps, and contacts synchronisation is already a great tool not so well supported on iphones.
Thank you

I absolutely agree with you, same problem of yours: no Windows Pc at home and it will be a dream have a Noka Suite for Linux!
Let's trust in Nokia
It is the same issue for OSX too. No matter what apple/os x blogs say, boot camp installed windows is not the same as the thing installed to generic PC. 15MB/sec speed (!) of sata2 disk should sum it up.
I spent 2 freaking days to install vista and update it to a mac mini just to see "no software updates available", Not just that, they don't test these things on virtual windows, even on free/open source sun virtualbox. As result, the connection issues makes you impossible to trust to it for a critical process like this. White screen means 5 days of service time not covered by warranty.

I will be very useful make this program available for all the Linux users that own a Nokia device and don't have Windows or don't want to use it. I think many many people will appreciate this!
Anyway I still support for Nokia!
Cordially

Do you think it is a normal thing to be that late? We heard same tale for ovi suite on os x and I am betting it will be ppc incompatible for os x as they will be lazy to universal build the qt4. Just for the records.
"Linux version of Nokia Software Updater is coming on 2nd half of 2010."
...well, it's August now - any news?

Somewhere else, I read the promising comment:
"Linux version of Nokia Software Updater is coming on 2nd half of 2010."
It is August now, what's the status of the Linux version?
...speaking of which: does anyone know whether there are plans to port the whole PC Suite/Ovi Suite for Linux?
Data storage structure on the device and data transfer protocols seem to change all the time, the open source community can't quite keep up to provide any good software to access Nokia phones. Some support from the actual manufacturer would seem appropriate, especially since Nokia seems to support Linux at least partly (N900...). - Anyone?
Using WINE for such a purpose, even a Virtual Machine running "real" virtual Windows is kind of suicidal. Let me warn. Wine won't work that way anyway (linux lacks actual fw drivers) but Virtual Machines will fail very miserably in middle of process as Nokia happily ignores a 70 MB download to actually TEST VirtualBox VM.
