Having installed the new Nokia Suite 3.2 Beta as an upgrade over existing latest OVI Suite the contacts fail to sync and always hang around ~15%. Whether relevant or not the same contacts name shows on the sync window at the point of failure. Resetting the sync does nothing to resolve. Editing the contact temporarily gets it one contact further.

With a complete reinstall. Deleting ProgramData\ User Profile\ Registry same problem occurs. Can't complete 1st sync of contacts.
Other parts of sync work - calendar/tasks etc seem ok but can't test further without contacts syncing.

Further test, foolishly decided to hard reset the phone. Phone is nice and clean but can't now the contact sync hangs - tried leaving it for 4 hours but no movement. Can't even sync Calendar/Tasks at this point.
suspect this all has something to do with Nokia's insistance that all contacts must have a phone number and no notes.

Finally success..... hard reset phone, reinstall Anna, totally clean install NOKIA Suite. At that point start Nokia Suite as a normal user (not admin) still fails. Running NOKIA Suite once with Run as Admin connecting to phone and just syncing notes before closing Nokia Suite, waiting long time for Nokia updater background service to close and then starting Nokia Suite as a normal user finally enables the user to sync.
Now that I finally have a working phone again, phew, but now it appears Nokia Suite has inhereted the old old old problem with syncing contacts between Outlook and Nokia Phones, if you just read a note on the nokia phone it marks the contact as updated. This is a disaster when the note has embedded objects or html. If the phone can't decode a note can the 'note' section be read only - or preferably give the option to select exactly which individual contacts to update/delete when syncing.
Hi travelhigh,
Sorry to hear about your problems. I see you have solved the original problem, but some still remain. Obviously I will not ask you to reproduce.
Did I understand the problem with the note field correctly?
- You read the note field on the phone
- This updates the note field and discards the embedded object or html
- In sync the data in the note field is lost also from Outlook
Let me know if there is still something else we should look into apart from this note field problem.
