For the majority of cities described as "supported", there is virtually no information

2012-02-29 @ 21:25 by ivanstetsenko
Virtually no coverage for Moscow (only underground and trams, no buses/trolleybuses), no coverage for Nottingham, despite the fact that it is listed as a supported city, the same situation with Bristol. Pretty poor coverage of London (no overground and trains). Places with this sort of information should not be listed as "supported".

Product team response

Hi Ivan,

We appreciate your honest feedback. You're right that our support for Moscow is not optimal. We're working on that it looks like the situation will improve quite soon.

What bothers me more, however, is your bad experience for London. I dare to say, that our coverage for London is very good. You should be able to use all of TFL (underground + most busses), DLR and many other local companies. Can your give us some concrete examples for requests you did and the results you've got? It's appears to be crucial that we can reproduce and fix your problems.

Have to agree London trains are poor. Actually from what I tried, my train line doesn't even exist

As examples:

* Fenchurch Street to Limehouse, should be one stop using the c2c train line, but the apps just suggests bus or the DLR (24 minutes)

• Fenchurch Street to Barking, three stops using c2c. You’re outside the station, but the app tells you to take a 9-minute walk to Tower Hall and use the underground (38 mins). The silliest suggestion being to take a bus to a different main line station, to catch a series of underground connections.

The correct answers are Fenchurch Street Station > c2c > Limehouse (4minutes) and Fenchurch Street Station > c2c > Barking (17 minutes). Not only a lot quicker, but still pay the same fare

Also tried some other mainline routes and drew a blank. Looks like the app only has TFL data (underground, busses and DLR) and nothing from National Rail.

But I have to say the results for journeys between areas just served by the underground are pretty good

This trial has ended!
