Tried this as few times and always the same result.
As soon as I manually entered Dublin into the app as my location the forecast updated correctly.

Hi Matt
The Weather app team have made an improvement which we expect to fix this problem. Please keep a look out for the next release of the Nokia Map Suite.
You have already discovered the workaround. The best chance of getting the Weather app to work is as follows:
- turn on all positioning methods except Bluetooth
- open Weather app, close it again
- wait more than 1 hour
- go outside, check that you have an internet connection, then open Weather application

lol! you're the second person to say that to me in a week!

LOL indeed!
I have a good reason to say it though. We have diagnosed the Weather app problem as something that happens after failing to get a position. Going outside gives you the best chance of getting a position and therefore avoiding this.
Having read your other post I see that you frequently travel between 2 countries. After the next update of Weather in the Nokia Maps Suite I would really like to know whether the Weather app gets your position, and if it does then does it update when you travel? There is a fix in for a Weather location sticking bug.
Thanks on behalf of all the teams involved for your feedback.

- this is a joke, right ? The N8 is almost out for 2 yrs, *now* you come out with the beta of a weather widget and you want me to go outside and check that I have an internet connection ? This is ridiculous.
Tell you what - I *will* go outside - to my telco dealer and purchase a different brand than Nokia, that's for sure.
We are going to fix this in the next release.
Going outside is what you can do now until the fix is available.
The team here are grateful to our beta testers for reporting issues to us, so that we can fix them in the commercial release. It is inevitable that beta software has some problems. It is your choice whether to install the newest beta software or wait for commercial release with higher quality.

@a.chokhani I had expected a working weather widget 18 months ago, when the N8 was released. At that time, Belle should have been released, too.
But that was b4 Nokia died.
Well I expected Belle 2 years ago. But that didnt happen. Thats not the point. If you face these issues on a commercially released app, your angst is justified. A beta app is supposed to have bugs. IF something in beta frustrates you, then you should wait till its out officially. If you waited 18 months, 1 more should be bearable.

Yesterday (08.03.2012) I installed the latest Maps Suite, removed and re-added the weather widget from my home screen.
Travelling across Dublin I noticed the weather widget's location change from Tallaght (Dublin suburb) to Blanchardstown (another Dublin suburb) to Dublin Airport.
Switched off phone at 16:56.

Landed in Manchester at 18:40 and switched on phone. Weather widget had not updated the location by 18:59.

Hi Matt
Thanks for the information.
I am wondering if there was some difference between the conditions when the update took place compared to earlier.
Did you have the same SIM in the phone throughout?
Did you have mobile reception each time or not?
Did you have a wireless connection or not?
Where were you, in terms of inside a building, a car, a train, outside?

Switched sim during flight.
Good mobile reception throughout.
Was not using wifi but 3G data was enabled (and connected).
Journey from Manchester airport to Sheffield was by car and was using Drive (from latest Maps Suite) throughout journey.

19:20 Loc: Sheffield - Widget: Sheffield
20:03 Loc: Glossop (20 miles from Sheffeld, driving) - Widget: Sheffield
20:33 Loc: Manchester Airport - Widget: Sheffield
21:12 Loc: Manchester Airport - Widget: Sheffield
21:37 Loc: Manchester Airport - Widget: Manchester Airport
23:01 Loc: Dublin Airport - Widget: Manchester Airport
23:30 Loc: Tallaght (Dublin suburb) - Widget: Manchester Airport
00:08 Loc: Dublin (driving) - Widget: Chapelizod (Dubin)
01:45 Loc: Kilcock - Widget: Kilcock
That's as much as I can give you for now, hope it helps :)
Matt
Update:
Left Kilcock at 10:00 this morning and arrived at Dublin (Klonskeagh) at 10:30.
It is now 13:10 and the widget still shows Kilcock.
