yes this is so annoying!! You answer, then it goes back to the map, then you have to minimise the map, the press the small phone icon, and then activate loudspeaker. All this whilst driving!

It would be good if while navigating there is a option to have it answer in loud speaker, and when you answer for the maps to still stay on the screen and work correctly, there could be an addional button maybe on the screen to hang up.

I agree with this idea. It will be very useful to answer direclty with the loudspeaker and hang up.

Will add to this as follows:-

Whilst driving and using fm transmitter calls automatically route voice via car speakers. Similarly, voice navigation should be routed via car speakers. I have found that if you are using fm transmitter, if you keep the volume on the handset down low whilst in music playback and have teh volume high in sat nav mode the music will cut out on the fm transmitter and you can hear the voice navigation without the music interference.

Ideally though when using the fm transmitter all should be routed via car speakers without the fundling about that we have just now

One thing I would like to see, as a person who has his phone mounted on his windshield, is for the full call screen to appear above the navigation app when a call comes in. One thing I would like to be able to do is not only answer a call (which is possible now) but have the screen stay on longer so that I can choose to activate the loudspeaker or dialer if I need to. That way I do not have to try to push the small phone icon, ...wait for the phone to respond..., and then hit loudspeaker or dialer.

One way that might work is to have a timeout to where the phone interface (sitting on top of the nav screen [possibly partially transparent]) fades out, or have an "x" on a corner somewhere that will allow the user to "X" out of the interface without closing the call.

I don't know but that would save me some frustration, and a lot of time, answering calls while maps is open.

I have downloaded and installed the application "loudspeaker". It costs only 9 dollars.
It has option to auto-reply in loudspeaker after 5 seconds. You can also create a new profile called i.e. "driving" and set the application to start only when the phone uses this profile.
I have tested it with Ovi maps (and with any other application) and it works great. When you receive a call, you don't leave the ovi maps screen, you DON'T need to press ANY button, you just wait for 5 seconds and then it autoreplies in loudspeaker. When the other person hangs up, the application closes (playing also a confirmation sound) and you continue to use ovi maps without any problem.
I believe that this is by far the best solution. (unless Nokia adds an extra feature in the future to answer calls in loudspeaker mode when using ovi maps...) But until then, http://www.symbianguru.com/loudspeaker-v-1-0-for-series-60.html
