I had been testing Ovi Maps 3.07 since it was released, I had no bad comments it works very good I had a few suggestions that could be analyzed for future release but so far it works perfect. Good Thinks * Load your Maps without computer * guides selection * Speed Alerts * Share your position Good to have it * Share traffic report * set a better interface to send the sound of the navigation to the headphone or througth FM transmiter * set a better interface to log your track and then upload it as update of the new streets or paths in the city (update the maps as you navigate). * Colors can be customizable * Allow to track your paths * work on the interface re-route the path.

Without 'Walk', I am going back to 3.06. I had gone out and could not remember how to find it. It ruined my outing. Now I am going back to 3.06. There are some great features but this is a deal breaker.

Seems faster and more responsive (on E7) than 3.06 and drive with no route chosen now automatically aligns with direction of travel - a great improvement. BUT - sadly, still does not link to bluetooth speaker for voice navigation. This renders it unusable in the real world - background noise drowns the E7 speaker in a car. and - what happened to "walk" navigation? It can never get beyond 2 stars until bluetooth voice navigation works.

This Beta Version works REALLLL FASTTTTT!!! Thats one awesome thing bout this version!! Even goin from Maps , jumping to drive,or check in functions are good and simple to understand!! The Maps widget especially is a very nice upgrade over previous version!! But what i miss the most, and which i m surprised is not here, is the integration.. In the previous versions, there was only MAPS App!! Here drive is different, maps, is diff, check in is diff. So Basically if we switch from Maps to Drive, both Mapps and drive apps are open in background! Previously everything was clubbed into OVI Maps!! All the app makers are tryin to integrate as many things as possible, which kinda makes things simpler!! Why has Ovi gone in other direction with Maps Beta!!

After a long period of almost perfect functioning Ovi Maps 3.07 has started crashing when dealing with own routes. Creating own routes and browsing them crashes the whole phone and after that Ovi Maps 3.07 won't work anymore. I have to uninstall it completely and reinstall it. But same keeps happening again and again. It messes up the whole phone! After several attempts to get it work, I have to go back to 3.06. That is a pity, because 3.06 lacks some very important features. I hope you can fix this fast. It is a big problem. I am using N8 with PR 1.2.

Here is my experience and opinion. Overall, I would say the collection of maps and guides is not that workable: One program in Two: I can't understand why 3.07 went to two programs to do the mapping. One for driving and one for just looking at a map. Open one program if you intend to drive. Open a different program if you just want to browse a map. By the way, if you stop navigating in the driving program, you end up with most of what you get in the "mapping only" program. Searching: The search function is horrible. I have put in a complete address and Ovi Can't find it. Ovi does better if I add California, USA at the end of the address. It's using the GPS. Doesn't it know that I am in the USA. Take a guess, Ovi and start with the San Diego that is closest to where I am. Google maps is almost perfect at this. Turn by Turn List: This list is not part of the program. Ovi knows the turns it will tell me to make. It just won't tell me that until I get to the turn. However, if I use Poynt to search for destination, Poynt will give me the turn by turn directions, even if I tell Poynt to use Ovi to map the route. Guides: Speaking of Poynt, it does a much better and faster job of finding places than Guides. I uninstalled Guides. In 3.06, switching between Poynt and Ovi would crash both programs. This has not happened with 3.07 Screens: The screens on Ovi are difficult to learn. I like the added map screen selection button on the right hand side of the screen. Much more workable than sliding your finger across the glass to change views. In 3.06, I would move my finger across the glass to move around the map and accidentally change views. Also, in some views, the compass gets screwed up (also happened in 3.06) and north is no longer at the top of my screen, north will be to the left. I do not think it is a compass problem, only once did Ovi tell me to turn my phone over several times until the compass reset. In the overview screen in the driving program, there are arrows on the left which, when tapped, will jump the map to the next turn in the route. The displayed street name at the top of the screen should change to the intersection which is being shown on the map. The name that is shown as it is now is the name of the street where you are currently located. Hmm, I know where I am now, I want to know where I am going that is why I am using a GPS. This program is OK if you put in a destination, trust Ovi will get it correct, listen to voice instructions and don't ask questions. Seems to me a couple died in Idaho following there GPS instructions through mud roads in winter and were trapped in their car.

So far so good. Installation was smooth, it works well and its faster than v3.06. I use the map to check in to places more often now and find interesting places around me. I would def. recommend it to everyone. Keep it up Nokia/Ovi.

Like to know who is using OVI Maps in Thailand and which version is prefered? I went back to 3.06. Better routes and more easy to use. Still don't leave home without paper road maps.

Ovi maps are great. Clear maps, easy to use, pre installing on your mobile ( at home ) No internet connection needed while driving. I am a very satisfied user. I hope Ovi Maps will suprise me even more in the futer with new inprovements and new gadgets.

Search function is still not comfortable. Every time I forgot how to do it: first country than comma or not comma than town and … But my old N82 had the better function with clear structure: – Country: – Town: – Street: – No.: I prefer the old version.

I was using Ovi Maps 3.07 during my two weeks vacation in USA. Travelling trough California. have to say I'm very pleased with Nokia Maps 3.07. The maps for the USA where very good. Very accurate speed limits on the map. Also searching for new hotels, or other stuff at the location we want to travel to was no problem. Just opening the map application, and going with the courser to the town you want to travel to. Click on search and select a pre-defined category (Logi, or Eat&Drink). You also could easily search for a certain hotel group, for example "Days In" or "Motel 6" by just entering the name. Ovi Maps shows then the searched items near the location you pre-selected via the map. Also the GPS position was found rather fast, even when I had A-GPS disabled due to GSM-roaming costs. It found the GPS position within 30 seconds to one minute. Sometimes even faster. But the following points needs to be improved. 1) When using GPS Navigation via Battery only (no charger cable connected to the phone), the screen on the phone gets black after about 15 minutes. 2) When pre-selecting your navigation target via the map, not directly via "drive", then the map application will remain open in the background when finishing travelling. Closing the navigation app will only close the "driving" part of Ovi Maps. The actual "maps" will remain open in the background and just use energy. (complained about this in my previous post) For the rest, Ovi Maps did a great job guiding us trough California. Nokia N8 - V 014.002 - RM-596

I prefer the 3.06 version, I don't like no menu, and the end key is to easy to touch.
