I buy nokia n8 from thailand then bring to china to studying here but I found many thing on nokia does not facibilities like: Language changing: Ten years ago, I saw nokia more then five language changing on it but now just only two what's fucking going on? Slow and Hang: I start use symbian first then I fall in love their function it's flexible and easy to use but it's quite slow through five years ago I also see this problem. The hanging I found in my phone it's cause rom not enough ,temp not perfect and OS algorithm not good at but important thing it's no you don't try to sovle this problem to customer. If still be this why don't close nokia company ?

3 Star Evaluation: It has great features, which I definitely would like to have always in my phone, but not at the expense of performance and the Store availability. Even without using any of the 3 widgets it still take about 25 Mb of RAM and it slowed down the new QML Store, everytime it didn't forced a restart of the phone. And of course, there is the issue of the log files. I hope it gets a new update to fix this issues.

i think its lack the smart search into phone contact, in the old nokia phones when you type 1 or more digit of a number it search into the contcat, msgs and e-mail and it bring them but in this one it could not search into phone content

From a basic point of view, the app is great, however, I do have a few trepidation's about its functions. Why it has a built in keyboard, I do not know, it just seems to be another thing that doesn't fit, luckily there is an option for using the default keyboard. I feel that the smart apps, and smart contacts application needs to have a snapping function, so that it will always show a full icon, and not half of one, its a pedantic point, but if this is implemented it will look more professional. Thats all for me! :)

I used it for a while but disinstalled now. It writes huge log files on c drive which si very annoying. I think is good but since I don't care about the widgets I just prefer to go back to old search.

How to set google as default web search, because it says "there is no search provider" for every country I select? Two other widget, smart contacts and smart apps, are very useful.

Only had this a couple of hours but really good so far, have used it three times just what I wanted on the phone, much better than the search facility my N8 did have. When, assuming this is put into the store or something will it remove/overwrite the old search facility?? I hope so

It's an excellent widget. It works so well. But the speed is a bit disappointing. There is quite a bit of lag, even when typing. It would be a much better app if it was quicker. The new QWERTY keyboard is fantastic. The list of search results is complete.

I have the Belle update on my n8 and the search widget was not working with web search...now it works much much better...the smart contacts and apps are great

Installed on N8. The good stuff first: Works well, is fast at finding things, and has deep integration in to the OS. However here are a few suggestions. Firstly, the homescreen widget is a waste of space. You can't type into the search bar, it just acts as a shortcut to the app. I'd like to see a click onto the search bar resulting in the split screen keyboard popping up and ready for data input. I also am not keen on the fact it goes online. Yes I know you can change this in the settings. I liked the old search widget whereby you could select phone or Google. How about including a little rocker switch on the widget allowing the user to either select locally, or include remote results? If I'm just searching for a text, or app or something, I don't need to search the Nokia store etc... On the flipside sometimes I do want to search for a new app or something on Google (i.e. when I'm at home and connect easily to wifi). Finally, I miss the category view the old search had. Why not introduce a swipe left/right gesture to switch the search perspective between the current view and a categorised view (e.g. email, texts, contacts etc...). One more thing. I've noticed a lot of folders appearing on my C: drive. Such as 20111012, 20111018. These folders contain *SearchServer.txt files. There are quite a few of these and they add up to 5/6MB! I presume these are related to universal search?? On the whole a good effort, needs a bit more polish though.

Actually I really enjoy this application. However, I still uninstall it at the end because of the following reasons: - Why the search app running at the background? It consume quite an amount of RAM. The pre-install search app doesn't require to running at the background when not using. - The 'smart' widget. I really can't understand why you guys include the smart widget into the app. Quite useless for me. RAM and battery consuming. - Laggy when scrolling. Hope you can improve it. - The (not pre-install) search widget. It looks like only a shortcut to the app... Can't even call it as a widget.

Overall the universal search is very fast and effective, but I already removed it. Day by day its been creating folders and files in C: which already took up over 25MB of space for about 1 month usage. I not sure what is that for but I believe this might be the indexed data for faster search purposes.

Now it works, it is extremley usefull. I use it to quickly launch the calc app from teh home screen and to search the web. cons remembering to use it David B

very nice on n8. made my life easier, i think that's the goal right! i'm very lazy, if i need to know some direction, for example, i prefer to tap a search instead of first opening the maps app, so, it works great for me. great job.

This has a big potential for those, who have to oversee loads of stuff, but the local content search doesn't return all matches. For instance, I search for breaking Benjamin music, which I have 25 pieces of, and this thing only shows me one. Do I have to register my music to the default music player for my music be shown up in this one? Why doesn't it search for local content? I don't want to have more than one search widgets to deal with. However, with that said, this is a really nice app. A few improvements and it'll be perfect.

I installed this on my N8 hoping that it wouls speed up my searches, but instead it seems to slow down the device as a whole. I have successfully uninstalled the search shortcut but how do I get uninstall the smart app & smart contacts, could someone give me some helpful advice?? I will try this application again once all the bugs have been fixed and hopefully it will work alot smoother and not slow down my device. Also it does nto start straight away from the home screen.

The app does what it is saying, which works quite nice. Results get generated pretty quickly and comprehensively. However there are some strange things to it. -1) Interface, this needs some work, it's the same old symbian story, it really needs improvement to this. Lots of clicks needed to get things done. And it looks 'old' -2) Widgets: *the search widget merely serves as a shortcut to the search option. You can't type in it, pretty useless and it takes up space. *The fav app widget: You can't exclude apps..... *The fav people widget: Looks like it keep reloading, flashes when you switch to that home screen -3) Version number: The version that replaces the 'old' search app, is higher then this beta version, so now i get a message in SWupdater that i need to install Symbian Anna 1/2, probably due to the lower app version of the search app. So all in all the idea is nice, but it needs quite some fine-tuning.

Fast and very useful. I like the qwerty keypad. If this can be done for this application, why nokia n8 for Asia region cannot have the qwerty keypad in ANNA.
