Still can't install or update Social. The most recent version I had on my phone was 1.2 (144) and even though a newer version 1.2 (166)) appeared always in SW update, it could never install.
I get the same error when I try to install this sis file update.
I don't get any reason just an error that says "unable to install" and that's it.
The only prev screen I get before this error is the very first install screen that gives the name of the app, version and a few details.
Any idea what I can do please??

Just to add, I'm on PR 1.1 for now.
I have also tried uninstalling social, restoring to factpry settings (Without deleting data) and then trying to install the 1.3 update but got the same results.

5) Error description of the errors reported during installation of Social application
6) What are the other applications installed on the device?
7) Which version of Social and “Social Installer O” is reported in Application Manager?

3)Yes. My latest execution is as follows
-uninstall all shown instances of social from application manager (only one instance just called "Social")
-backed up files and settings
-restarted phone
-attempted to install 1.3 but this failed
-attempted to install 1.2 (163) shown in SW update but this failed (this had always failed previously anyway)
-restored files and settings from backup
-attempted social 1.3 install again but again it failed.
-Strangely tho, just noticed I still have the socail widget and it functions ok displaying FB status. Nothing happens or opens up when I tap on it tho. And also, there's no sign of it in Application Manager
4)I haven't done this in an attempt to install 1.3 But i have done this a couple of times previously
5)No specific error message. Just says "unable to install"
6)Quite a few! Might have to give an export file or something(if I can)
7)Before uninstalling, I was up to version 1.2 (144) after which I couldn't install any more updates including version 1.2 (163) that was coming up in SW update
Right now,(since performing step 3 above) I don't have any version of social but as mentioned before, I still have the social homescreen widget which runs and status updates fine but doesn't open anything when I tap on it and doesn't appear under application manager.
Can you please check if you can reinstall Social 1.2.144 from http://nmota.messaging.nokia.com/clients/Social_1_1_update.sisx? You may need to set your device clock to Nov 1 2010 as cert on that file is out of date already.
If successful, then upgrade to 1.2.163 and then to 1.3.189.

im using nokia n8 privious version firmware1.1 and curent using1.2 in my phone im using social 1.2.163 its work fine when i tried to instal 1.3 latest its showing unable to install.i wanna use latest and plz suport orkut in social in india.u know indian love nokia

and then try to install Social 1.3 from this site. Please report your results here.
I am also experiencing the same problem. I am currently running Social 1.2.163. Trying to install Social 1.3.189 prompts the error 'Unable to install'.
I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling (by software updater) Social 1.2.163 but still after that I still can't seem to install 1.3.189.
Can anyone help out here?

@FirstTouch005 I have a whole bunch of failed installations logged in the file for Social. All with the same code : 10254
Had slight progress. Managed to install 1.2.144 but failed when tried to update via software updater AND manual install to version 1.2.163.
Manual install to version 1.3.189 also fails
Finally successful.
Had to uninstall 1.2.144. Reinstall 1.2.144 again. Update Social to 1.2.163. Then finally install 1.3.189.
November 1, 2010 still produced "Expired Certificate" for Social 1.2.144, any other date suggestions?

Can not install the downloaded Social 1.3.208 and 1.2.163! Through Software update app Social 1.2.163 installed without problems!
